Worshiping and praying to the god on the day of incarnation ensures that devotees enjoy a successful life.
Devotees are required to rise before daybreak, take a holy bath, and then observe the Datta Jayanti fasting practise. Devotees must give sweets, incense sticks, flowers, and a light during the puja. Sacred mantras and holy melodies must be spoken, as well as words from the Jivanmukta Gita and the Avadhuta Gita. During Puja, sprinkle turmeric powder, vermillion, and sandalwood paste on the statue of the Datta God. Devotees must chant mantras such as "Om Shri Gurudev Datta" and "Sree guru dattatreyaya namah" for the cleansing and enlightenment of the soul and mind.
